Are you taking the time you need for personal renewal?

I don’t like to go away on a “retreat”. The word “retreat” often is used when an enemy is winning and pushing us backward. I prefer to go away on a “restoration” so that I can return home ready to win spiritual battles. When was the last time you went on a “restoration”? Jesus wants to restore you! What do you need restored in your tired soul? Or in your wounded heart?

restoration getaway

Tragically, one of the all-too-common reasons to offer restorative getaways is conflicts among Christians. Another is persecution for being Christian, often by family members.

This is why we need restoration getaways and refreshers. Jesus wants to uplift the downtrodden, energize the weary, and renew those who have embraced the vocation of his ministry.

We are living through a highly divisive time. Controversies are becoming more heated; people on both sides of hot issues are becoming angrier. Labels are bandied about like hot branding irons: the “Christian left” versus the “Christian right”, conservatives versus liberals, fundamentalists versus progressives, and in my country Democrats versus Republicans.

At GNM, our calling is to aid people in growing closer to Christ and deeper into a relationship with his Holy Spirit, who can more ably guide people into a truer understanding of how to handle difficult issues. In a tumultuous world, Good News Ministries is a haven for peaceful contemplation of the Word of God and the teachings of the Church in a safe, Christ-centered manner so each person can respond to issues through faith and holiness instead of fear and anxiety.

take time to be restored by Jesus

One of the ways we offer this is through Virtual Retreats and, as of 2016, Virtual Reality Retreats. (Yeah, I do call them “retreats”, because that’s the commonly known word; if I call them Virtual Restorations, it might only attract homeowners looking for ideas on how to remodel their houses.) So, when you can’t get away from normal life to go on a restoration-vacation, here you can bring the restoration to you.

If I could invite you to come to Florida for a restoration getaway, would you come? My dream is to offer a place that gives new energy to the weary (not open to the public, only for members of Good News Ministries, i.e., our subscribers). Click here for more information.
